While I am not in the crystal ball business of predicting where the market is going to go, I hope these points give you some additional thoughts for the year ahead.

Be prepared to keep your cool. Especially if August 2015 repeats itself.

Pay more attention to management, the lesson of VW.

Stay away from commodities and high yield UNLESS you’re willing to trade frequently, it is not the time for buy and hold.

Exchange rate volatility will continue and will significantly affect company profits. Forget “constant basis”, exchange rates are what they are and the impact on results will be more durable than many investors want to believe.

Look for opportunities in emerging platforms where companies take a cut of other people’s sales.
